Hi there! My name is Rocksinspace (okay not really, but I’d like to keep some anonymity for now) an I am currently a graduate student at a university in the midwest (aka University of the Frozen Tundra) trying to write and finish my dissertation on main belt asteroids. Since my undergrad training was that of an astronomer, I sit happily in an astronomy department but often find myself the odd person out since I’m not working on objects farther away like stars and galaxies. As I finish my dissertation I find myself not at the University of the Frozen Tundra, but am currently writing at home in the town of a wannabe Ivy League school as my husband who is also an astronomer was offered a job here. I mostly started this blog to write what comes to my brain after reading the other “academic” blogs and to have a research blog.
Of course, my great plans and what really happens are two different things. Somehow I wonder if blogging about science will get done at all. . . .
